At Total Taekwondo, we believe that excellence is not something that happens occasionally—it is something that is practiced every day. Our philosophy is simple but powerful:
Elite is our standard. Excellence is our habit. Improvement is constant.
Total Taekwondo is not simply a place where students attend a weekly class. It is a performance environment designed to develop high-level martial artists while shaping strong, confident young people who carry the values of Taekwondo into every area of their lives.
Our mission is clear: to develop technically excellent martial artists, build disciplined and confident individuals, and create champions both on and off the mats.
Our Vision: More Than Just Training
At the heart of Total Taekwondo is a commitment to continuous development.
We strive to:
Produce technically excellent martial artists with strong fundamentals and refined skills
Develop confident, disciplined young people who carry themselves with pride
Build champions on and off the mats, where character matters as much as medals
Maintain the highest coaching standards in every single session
This vision shapes everything we do—from how classes are structured to how coaches interact with students. Every drill, every correction, and every moment on the mats contributes to a larger goal: long-term development and personal growth.
Student Standards: Elite Behaviour Creates Elite Athletes
A high-level training environment requires high standards from everyone involved. At Total Taekwondo, students are expected to uphold behaviours that reflect discipline, respect, and commitment.
Uniform Standards
Students represent the club every time they step on the mats. Our uniform standards reinforce professionalism and unity.
Students are required to wear:
The official Total Taekwondo T-Shirt or hoodie
Dobok pants or full dobok
Their belt at every class
Uniform is more than clothing—it represents commitment, belonging, and pride in the team.
Dojang Etiquette
Respect is a core principle of Taekwondo and a fundamental part of every class.
Students are expected to:
Bow when entering and leaving the mats
Turn away when adjusting their uniform
Raise their hand and ask permission before leaving the mats
Show respect to coaches and fellow students at all times
These traditions help create an environment built on discipline and mutual respect.
Effort and Attitude
Talent alone does not create champions—effort and mindset do.
At Total Taekwondo, students are encouraged to:
Train with maximum effort
Listen the first time instructions are given
Accept correction positively
Support and encourage teammates
Progress comes from consistency, and every student is challenged to bring their best attitude to every session.
Coaching Standards: Leadership in Action
Our coaches are not simply instructors standing at the front of the room. They are leaders, mentors, and role models responsible for guiding students toward their potential.
Professional Presentation
Coaches must present themselves in a way that reflects professionalism and pride.
This includes wearing:
Dobok pants
Their belt during all coaching sessions
Professional presentation reinforces authority, respect, and the importance of the environment we are building.
Active Coaching
Great coaching requires energy, presence, and engagement.
Our coaches are expected to:
Engage consistently with every student
Circulate actively around the class
Correct technique immediately
Provide clear and constructive feedback
Demonstrate techniques when needed
Coaching is not passive observation—it is constant involvement in the development of each athlete.
Attention to Detail
Elite performance is built on small details.
At Total Taekwondo we believe:
Every mistake should be corrected
Poor habits must never be allowed to develop
High expectations must be maintained at all times
Students should be pushed to reach their personal best
Small improvements, repeated over time, create exceptional athletes.
Leadership and Character
Perhaps the most important role of a coach is to model the character we expect students to develop.
All coaches strive to embody the Tenets of Taekwondo:
Courtesy
Integrity
Perseverance
Self-Control
Indomitable Spirit
These principles guide our behaviour both inside and outside the dojang.
Creating Champions for Life
Success in Taekwondo is not measured only by belts or competition results. While we celebrate achievements on the mats, our greater goal is to help students develop discipline, confidence, resilience, and respect that will serve them throughout their lives.
Every class is an opportunity to improve—not just as athletes, but as people.
At Total Taekwondo, we are building more than martial artists.
We are building leaders, role models, and champions for life.
